Terms of Service
1. What the service does
You submit a goal and a standard. We run it past a panel of AI models you select, plus a referee model that rules on acceptance criteria. The output is a transcript, a set of rulings, and a verdict.
2. What the output is and is not
Output is generated by third-party AI models and is not advice. It is not legal, medical, financial, engineering or professional advice of any kind, and no professional relationship is created by using this service.
The referee ruling a criterion ‘met’ is a statement about the evidence on record in that match. It is not a guarantee of correctness. AI models make mistakes, misread sources, and can fabricate citations despite instructions not to. You must independently verify anything you intend to rely on, particularly before publishing it, submitting it, or acting on it. Referee.chat is a tool for pressure-testing work, not a substitute for qualified human review.
3. Your content
You keep ownership of the goals you submit and of the output produced for you. You grant us only the licence needed to operate the service: to process your goal, transmit it to the model providers you selected, and store the resulting match so you can return to it.
Matches are private by default. If you mark a match public it becomes visible to anyone with the link and may appear in our public gallery. Do not publish a match containing anything confidential.
Do not submit personal data about others, confidential material you are not entitled to share, or content that is unlawful.
4. Credits and billing
Credit is prepaid and is consumed as matches run. Every match has a spending limit you set; reaching it pauses the match rather than continuing to spend. Balances are not transferable and, except where required by law, are non-refundable once consumed. Unused credit is refundable on request.
If you connect your own inference key, you pay your provider directly and we bill no per-token charge. Past the stated free allowance an infrastructure fee applies to cover running the panel, tools and storage.
We may change prices with notice. Changes never apply to credit already purchased.
5. Acceptable use
Do not use the service to generate content that harms others, to attempt to extract our prompts or system instructions, to circumvent the spending or rate limits, or to resell access without a written agreement. The code-execution tool is for verifying claims; do not use it to attack any system.
6. Availability
We depend on third-party model providers. Providers go down, change models, and deprecate them. A match interrupted for any reason is paused and resumable; we do not charge for work that did not happen. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and a model you used before may become unavailable.
7. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided ‘as is’ without warranties of any kind. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including any loss arising from reliance on model output.
8. Termination
You may close your account at any time; we will refund unused credit. We may suspend accounts that breach these terms or that put the service at risk.
9. Changes and contact
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced on the site. Contact Us.
